September 21st is Peace Day
International Peace Day (21 Sept. often expanded to Peace Week) created and meant with good intent from the United Nations.
I am reminded of Havelock Ellis’s 1919 quote: "There is nothing that war has ever achieved that could not be better achieved
without it."
Centuries of history teach us this lesson, yet we still follow the loudest divisive leaders who promise safety but deliver conflict. They are the Circus ringleaders for divisive groups who want to see the world by their own heartless vision.
We cannot control where we are born.
Our hearts must go out to the ordinary people caught in the crossfire of geopolitical greed. We see this tragedy clearly today: the brave people of Ukraine fighting for the freedom they were guaranteed by treaties; the collapse of the Iran Nuclear Deal, which closed off a diplomatic path to stability; and the devastating retaliation horror that a majority of innocent Palestinians are enduring for the extremely horrible attack in Israel that a small group of mainly unwanted Hamas leaders committed.
The US Department of Defense now being referred to by bad leadership, “The US Department of War” sending a fearful message to the world.
True peace requires looking beyond the hatred spewed by extreme factions and remembering our shared humanity.
This year’s UN Peace Day theme—"Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day"—reminds us that change starts from the ground up. Even when peace feels distant, we must keep hoping, imagining, and doing our personal best to live peacefully.

Their heroism is highlighting the importance of many things we take for granted and redefining why freedom is worth fighting for.
